Fun food hacks.

Getting creative in the kitchen is cool, and finding new food hacks is something we all enjoy. They can save time, money, and most importantly be fun. Try out these food hacks.

Honey, there's a jelly baby in my cube!
A fun treat for the kids and adults alike. Fill your ice cube trays with water or juice and add one jelly baby to each cube compartment. Freeze overnight  ... and voilà! You have cool ice cubes that the kids can enjoy in their drinks, and once the cube melts, they get a jelly baby treat.

The grate escape
Burnt your cookies just a little at the bottom? No stress, use your grater to grate away the burnt parts. Works like a charm. Try it.

Straw galore
No sosatie sticks? No problem. Use straws instead to make fruit sosaties. Use soft fruits such as strawberry, grape, and banana that the straw can easily pierce through.

Colourful choc
Grab a small plastic bag. Fill it with pieces of plain white chocolate and a drop of food colouring of your choice. Place the sealed bag in a bowl of boiling water until the chocolate melts. After the choclate melts, cut a tiny hole at the bottom of the bag. Pipe the colourful melted chocolate over ice cream, a slice of cake, or cookies.

Say cheese
Having a party? Grate different types of cheese and place each flavour in a different compartment of a small muffin tray. Label them. This way guests have easy access to cheese toppings of their choice. Alternate option: have different toppings in the tray, such as diced onion, dice carrot, or raisins for variety.

There you have it. Easy and so much fun. Watch Recipes for Love and Murder on Thursdays at 20:00 on #MNet101 or stream it on DStv Stream. Got food hacks of your own? Share them by using the hashtag #RecipesLoveMurder on our social media platforms: FacebookXInstagram, and TikTok.
