It has been a rough couple of weeks for one of our favourite Legacy couples as Willem and Charmaine try to come to terms with the unexpected new addition to the Potgieter family.

Did you know that the oldest man to ever become a father was 96-years-old when his second child was born?

Although we can understand why he is worried about having a new baby in his 60s, we found a few famous ‘older’ dads to show him that it can be done.

Funnyman Charlie Chaplin takes first place on the podium of oldest new dads. His wife, Oona O’Neil gave birth to their youngest son when Chaplin was 73-years-old. Like Willem and Charmaine, Carlie was a whopping 36 years older than his wife whom he married when she was just 18 years old.

Even though his wife did not carry his daughter, Robert DeNiro still became a father at the age of 68 via surrogate. He and his second wife welcomed their baby Helen Grace in 2011 after the first little deNiro arrived in 1976.

Dirty Harry himself refuses to confirm the exact number of children he has fathered, but we do know that Clint Eastwood’s last confirmed child was with Dina Ruiz in 1996 when he was 66-years-old.

Larry King having a child at 66 is not the most shocking thing about his personal life. This legendary TV host had five children between 1961 and 1999 and a whopping eight wives.

It is no secret that singing sensation Rod Stewart was a ladies’ man, having eight children with five different women between 1963 and 2007. His first was born when he was only 19 and 41 years later in 2011, he welcomed his eighth child when he was 60.

While most of these dads welcomed their latest young ones in their 60s, Steve Martin became a father for the very first time in 2013 when he was 67-years-old!

Although we can understand that Willem is scared about welcoming this new baby, we think that he’ll do an amazing job with help from everybody around him.
