A musical adventure in a land far, far away, Sonic on a mission, Stallone on a heist, and a love story that defies time. Here’s your July Sunday night movie line-up on M-Net channel 101. PS, you better stock up on popcorn.

We Live in Time

Romance lovers, grab the tissues as Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh bring you an emotional romantic drama that'll make you reminisce. The movie explores the complex relationship between Tobias (Garfield) and Almut (Pugh) over the course of a decade and covers how fate has them crossing paths with each other, time and time again. Over the years, their love, heartaches, and life in between are beautifully uncovered. Watch We Live in Time on Sunday 6 July at 20:05.

Fun fact: When Florence Pugh couldn’t make it to the film premiere at the London Film Festival, Andrew Garfield brought a life-size cardboard cut-out of Pugh in her place. Here’s that funny moment:

Wicked

Wicked fans, this one is for you! Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo bring this musical fantasy to life on screen. Get whisked away to the Land of Oz (before the events of The Wizard of Oz) and uncover the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda – before their rise as the iconic Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. The costumes are epic, the makeup is out of this world, and the singing is pure magic. You're in for a Wicked adventure on Sunday 13 July at 20:05

Fun fact: The green makeup for Cynthia Erivo’s character Elphaba took about four hours to do and about 45 minutes to remove at the end of each shoot.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Your favourite video game hedgehog is back with his third movie from the incredible Sonic franchise. The movie boasts the return of an all-star cast with live acting and voicing talents from Jim Carrey, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, and Ben Schwartz. Shadow the Hedgehog comes up with a plot to destroy all of humanity. It’s up to our beloved Sonic and his friends, Knuckles and Tails, to stop him. They decide to form an unlikely alliance with mad scientist Dr Ivo Robotnik, in hopes of saving the world. Expect action, tons of laughs, and one heck of an adventure. Get your game on with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on Sunday 20 July at 20:05.

Fun fact: Knuckle’s new catchphrase “knuckle up” was improvised by Idris Elba during rehearsals, and they decided to keep it in the movie. Pretty cool, hey?

Bonus fun fact: Jim Carrey plays a dual role as mad scientist Dr Ivo Robotnik and Ivo’s grandfather, Gerald Robotnik.

Armor

Sylvester Stallone’s back in this riveting action thriller that'll leave your heart racing. James Brody (Jason Patric), an armoured truck security guard, and his son Cody are unknowingly transporting gold. They’re ambushed on a bridge by a gang of thieves led by their leader Rook … cue Stallone … and a face-off begins. Every minute counts as James and Cody must outsmart the gang and safely reach their destination. If you enjoyed Aftermath, then you’re going to like this one. Watch Armor on Sunday 27 July at 20:05.
