The eight teams from the two My Kitchen Rules SA groups come together for the first time in the competition to tackle the Challenge Phase which is hosted along the Garden Route this season. Their first task will be to feed 40 hungry surfers and lifeguards as they bid for the R1 million prize. One duo will win a cash prize for setting their audience’s tastebuds alight, while another will head home.

As competition gets away under the sun in one of South Africa’s most globally-renowned tourist destinations, there’s a debate about bean-binding, a newfound use for one of the country’s most popular breakfast cereals, and a difference in opinion over a cup of tea.

The eight teams through to the challenge phase are:

  • Group 1: Jessica and Nicole; Martin and Eddie; Larcé and Jabu, Azraa and Waven
  • Group 2: Abraham and Michelle, Kirsten and Detlev; Shaeem and Mas-ud, Tim and Shereez
