Martin Field
Martin has lived and breathed underwater since his early twenties. He grew up in Simon’s Town, so the ocean has always been part of his life. Underwater was where he felt most comfortable: in his skin, alive, free, confident, the centre of the universe. It was on land that he felt tethered, tied down, a true fish out of water. On land, he felt a little out of control. As a result, he became perfectionistic and task-focused; so he likes everything to run like clockwork. But underwater, it’s the complete opposite; he is wild and free.
