Deliciously villainous! – Legacy

These are the Legacy characters we love to hate.
Legacy S1 Villains Article Angelique Price

There is nothing that makes a story more captivating than a thrilling antagonist! What would Batman be without the Joker? Harry Potter without Lord Voldemort? Today we raise a toast to these convoluted characters so, welcome to the dark side Legacy fam!

Felicity Price

When the Legacy audience is introduced to the Price family, Felicity Price is daddy's hardworking 'golden girl' tipped to be Sebastian Price's successor after his retirement.  Things, however, sour when she finds out that her young and attractive stepmother is miles ahead of her in her father’s books. After successfully derailing her stepmother as the next in line through a devious plot, her father, Sebastian discovers that his little princess is also a conniving mastermind. When he survives an accident caused by Felicity in a fit of rage, he wants nothing but retribution, but what follows is a series of unfortunate events where Felicity tries to survive and escape punishment.

We love to hate Felicity because she will stop at nothing to cover her tracks, but sympathise with her because there is reason to believe that she's losing what is rightfully hers as the most competent heir to the Price empire.  Essentially our 'poor little rich girl' does appear to be a victim of circumstance.

Stefan Potgieter

Sebastian Price's love-drunk driver, Stefan, swims a little too deep into Felicity’s sweet waters, making a fateful decision that has them scheming for survival. The Felicity and Stefan duo is incredibly toxic, with the imbalance of power glaringly visible. The Price family heiress is a cunning and manipulative ‘damsel in distress’ which draws out Stefan’s saviour complex, making him do anything to please her.

We love to hate Stefan because, honestly, no one has asked him to do what he has done yet he continues to blindly do the most heinous things because of his love for Felicity. That said, it is hard not to see ourselves in this character, as he comes from a humble background, is a loving brother, and makes mistakes because of love, as many of us do.

Msizi Zulu

Msizi is played by seasoned thespian Siyabonga Thwala. And from the offset, we can see he isn't a wolf in sheep's skin, he’s simply the big bad wolf himself! He wastes no time in gunning for Sebastian’s CEO position, which seems reserved for Price family members! We love to hate Msizi because of his underhanded tactics and desire to win at all costs. In the same breath, we love that he is highly ambitious and always seems to know just how to get things done.

Angelique Price

Angelique owns the mother of all introductions on Legacy!  As soon as Sebastian goes missing, his estranged ex-wife sashays into the family lodge, dressed in all black, wailing for her 'husband'.  But he hasn't been married to her for 20 odd years! However, Angelique still considers herself the original and only Mrs Price!  She does all she can to humiliate and blemish the current Mrs Price. We love to hate her because she never fights fair, but also find her deliciously villainous because we do love ourselves a petty queen!

John

Finally, we have John, the Price family's longest-serving and most loyal employee, who has stumbled on Felicity's dirty little secret!  After being loyal for years, he is finally ready to get his own. We love to hate John right now because "How dare he turn on one of the Prices like that!" and "Where on earth does he get off making such demands?” But we can't help melting at his almost fatherly relationship with Dineo Price and how his demands could not only benefit him, but his community too.
